The south face of the Potala with Zhöl (zhol) village at its base. The outer Zhöl pillar, Doring Chima (rdo ring phyi ma), can be seen in the center of the image, along with the two Chinese-style pagodas that comprise the Khangser (khang ser), and the Zhöl main gate (gzhung sgo) behind them. In the foreground there is a grassy field, with the stone Kelzang Bridge (bskal bzang zam pa) and two men with horses nearby.
