This dance is performed during Tshechu festivals to chase away non human spirits harming the people.This Cham Dance are anciently performed in Drametse since centuries and later in the 19th century it got popular and the performed the throughout the country.There are three types of the sacred dances introduced by Tertoen Pema Lingpa and Juging Cham is one of them. It was in fiftteenth century the Driging Cham was introduced to subdue all the spirits who tends to harm and destroy the spread of Buddha Dharma.
