Ghana is renowned for its funeary traditions, which include specialized coffins in which to bury the dead. The coffins are commissioned from local specialist craftsmen, who create a coffin that reflects the deceased's interests or profession. For example, a farmer might be buried in the vegetable-shaped coffin, and a fisherman in the fish-shaped one.
