Figures dressed as the Kings of the Four Quarters can be seen joining the procession at the Sertreng Ceremony (tshogs mchod ser sbreng), or "The Golden Procession of the Assembly of Worship." Surrounding the figures are monks and spectators, and the tent in which officials sit is visible on the far right of the image. The photograph looks down on Zhöl (zhol) village, facing south. It was taken from one of the roofs of the buildings at the base of the Potala or from the steps.Associated Resources
