People and mules walk along a path in the Lhasa valley between 13-15 November 1936, with the northwest face of the Potala visible across the plain. Some buildings can be seen on the right side of the image, and a large shadow is cast in the bottom right corner of the image. In the distance, the mountains that surround Lhasa valley stretch across the horizon.
