This is a statue of Lachen Gongpa Rabsel (bla chen dgongs pa rab gsal), who both founded and died at Martsang Drak Monastery (dmar gtsang brag dgon). Lachen Gongpa Rapsel reintroduced the monastic ordination lineage to central Tibet during the tenth century after it had died out during the chaotic period following the collapse of the Tibetan empire.
