A monk recites a prayer while placing the wand on the pilgrim's head. The other end of the wand extends to the heart of the Avalokitesvara image inside the case. The original image in this temple (no longer here) was the sPyan ras gzigs image unearthed by Gung ru rgyal mtshan bzang po as "treasure." The wand is said to be Gung ru ba's original walking stick.Associated Resources
